Elevate your fitness and safeguard your health with the perfect blend of yoga and strength training in this dynamic 8-week program!

Designed to preserve muscle mass and bone density—especially crucial as we age and for those recovering from a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)—this class combines the flexibility, balance, and mindfulness of yoga with the muscle-building power of weights. Each session will flow through yoga poses to improve mobility, followed by targeted weight exercises to build strength, support joint health, and maintain essential bone density.

Whether you’re a yogi looking to add strength training to your routine, recovering from an injury, or someone wanting a mindful approach to fitness, this program is for you. All fitness levels are welcome, with modifications provided to meet your individual needs.

SCHEDULE:
Wednesday’s at 12pm CST (1EST/11MST/10PST)

    • Dec 3 – Intro to Yoga & Weights
      Get an overview of how yoga and weight training work together to build strength, preserve muscle mass, and maintain joint health. We’ll cover proper alignment, breathing techniques, and the basics of weight training to ease you into the program.
    • Dec 11 – Shoulders
      Focus on shoulder mobility and strength, combining yoga poses that open and stabilize this joint with targeted weight exercises to build muscle and prevent injury. Ideal for improving posture and reducing shoulder tension.
    • Dec 18 – Hips & Hammies
      Strengthen and stretch your hips and hamstrings with a session that promotes flexibility and stability. Yoga flows will help lengthen tight hamstrings, while weight training builds strength to support lower body health and mobility.
    • Jan 1 – Elbows & Wrists
      Start the new year by building resilience in the often-overlooked elbows and wrists. This session focuses on strengthening and protecting these small but vital joints through targeted weight exercises and yoga postures that increase flexibility and reduce strain.
    • Jan 8 – Feet & Ankles
      Strengthen your foundation by focusing on foot and ankle health. Yoga postures will improve balance and flexibility, while weights help build strength to support better movement and prevent injury. Perfect for enhancing stability and overall lower body function.
    • Jan 15 – TMJ
      This unique session will focus on the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), relieving tension in the jaw and neck through gentle yoga techniques. Learn how to release stress and prevent jaw discomfort with yoga postures and mindfulness.
    • Jan 22 – SI Joint
      Explore the sacroiliac (SI) joint, an important connection between your spine and pelvis. Yoga poses and weight exercises will focus on strengthening and stabilizing this area to relieve discomfort and promote better movement.
    • Jan 29 – Knee
      Wrap up the series with a session dedicated to knee health. Yoga poses will help improve knee alignment and flexibility, while weight training focuses on strengthening the muscles around the knee to enhance stability and prevent injury.

    This program is ideal for anyone looking to build strength, preserve joint health, and improve mobility, especially as we age. Whether you’re working on injury prevention or just want to stay strong and flexible, each week offers targeted support for the entire body!
